Ankush Mandavia Drops to the 16th Position in the Latest GPI Ranking Update

US poker player Ankush Mandavia dropped by two positions in the Global Poker Index (GPI) ranking at its latest update. The player now occupies the 16th place in the ranking, after climbing as high as the 13th spot in the GPI.

The US-born Mandavia has generated all-time winnings of $3,873,384. The largest cash prize he has managed to win so far is estimated to $787,640. In 2016, he played in a number of prestigious live poker events and performed really well.

The last poker event Ankush Mandavia took part in was the $100,000 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em #23 Super High Roller event at the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic. The tournament was hosted on December 10th at the Bellagio casino in Las Vegas and Mandavia managed to get to sixth position, taking home a prize of $186,200.

There were two other WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic events the player participated in. He entered the #21 High Roller event with a buy-in of $25,000 and won it, scooping a massive $403,532 prize. On December 3rd he also played in the NLHE #12 event, and remained 16th.

The US player got fifth in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit – Los Angeles’ Main Event, scooping a guaranteed prize pool cash portion amounting to $63,250.

In November 2016, Ankush Mandavia took part in the partypoker WPT Caribbean tournament, entering a total of two events and generating overall prizes of $61,500. Only one month earlier – in the mid October, he participated in the WPT bestbet Bounty Scramble tournament’s Main Event and ranked third, getting a guaranteed prize portion of $152,766.

In the summer of 2016, Mandavia participated in the 47th edition of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) at the Rio Hotel and Casino. At the beginning of June, he took part in a total of five events, and then at the end of the month and the beginning of July he played in two other poker events of the WSOP tournament, winning the $5,000 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em (30-minute levels) event #48 and taking home a massive prize of $548,139. His total winnings generated throughout the 47th edition of the WSOP amount to $583,276.

The US player took part at the NLHE – SHRPO Championship of the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open in August. In the summer, he also played in a number of tournaments, including The Wynn Summer Classic, the 2016 edition of the Goliath Phamous Poker Series and the Deep Stack Extravaganza III.

March 2016 saw Mandavia participate in two live poker tournaments – the WPT Rolling Thunder from March 12th to 16th and the WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star from March 7th to 11th.

At the beginning of 2016, the player took part in three events of last year’s edition of PCA, as well as in the No Limit Hold’em Shootout of the 2016 WPT Fallsview Poker Classic.
